The Poet Heroic is a podcast and small-press poetry publishing house
founded and hosted by the poet Timothy Arliss OBrien.
We also created the magical metaphysical imprint,
Crescent Veil Ink, for all of your mystical needs.
(Because even magic is poetry.)
We celebrate all writers and uphold the belief that anyone can be a poet.
We believe poetry can be words, photography collections, tarot decks, paintings, podcasts, secret envelopes, books hiding within books, crystal grids, drag queens, classical music, cookbooks and recipes, and quiet affirmations whispered into the dark.
Submissions are always open and previously published pieces are welcome.
Meet the Heroes
Timothy Arliss O'Brien is a composer, the founding bookbinder of the small press The Poet Heroic, and of its metaphysical imprint, Crescent Veil Ink. He is also a poetry reviewer for Okay Donkey and is the award-winning makeup artist and drag queen Tabitha Acidz, known for the magazine column: Advice with a Tab of Acidz.
He also received a Diploma in the Pastry Arts from Escoffier Culinary School, a Diploma with distinction in Marine Biology from the Centre of Excellence, and was also awarded an honorary Bachelor of Arts in Metaphysics from Abide University for his Tarot Decks and publications on divination.
Nicholas Yandell is a composer, who sometimes creates with words instead of sound. In those cases, he usually ends up with fiction and occasionally poetry. He also paints and draws, and often all these activities become combined, because they’re really not all that different from each other,
and it’s all just art right?
When not working on creative projects, Nick works as a bookseller at Powell’s Books in Portland, Oregon, where he enjoys being surrounded by a wealth of knowledge, as well as working and interacting with creatively stimulating people.
