After a wonderful first five seasons, I am planning a sixth season of my podcast, The Poet Heroic, starting Fall 2024.
The Poet Heroic is a small press poetry publisher and podcast curated by poet and composer Timothy Arliss OBrien.
Our rolling Poem of The Week contest and our podcast showcase a range of new and experienced writers along with freshly published works and pieces that have existed in some phenomenal publications to celebrate the heroic art of poetry.
Each podcast episode takes the listener on a journey through three poems by guest writers, two poems by the host, and one poem in the public domain from a favorite classic author.
Our Poem of the Week competition is a photographed catalogue of our accepted poems including a performed audio recording of the poem by one of the amazing readers on our team.
All poems accepted for publication as a poem of the week are queued up for consideration to be read on the podcast. The Poems are also featured on social media and we prefer shorter pieces that can fit on one page and be featured in a single image.

We are currently open for poetry submissions, interest in guest hosting, or elevator pitches for a short collection to bind into a zine.
We welcome all writers, published or unpublished, seasoned or brand new.
It is an honor to hold a space for others to craft and learn to be a wordsmith.

Unfortunately at this time, we are unable to pay our contributors.
To provide an exceptional experience to all of our listeners we have chosen to not monetize or include ads in our podcast episodes or on our website.
Also due to the limited capacity with running the podcast and keeping up with book orders for the small press
please only send three poems or three pages for review at a time.
Please refrain from sending new submissions until you have received feedback on previous submissions.
Any work submitted that is found to be racist, bigoted, hateful and/or work that promotes gratuitous or sexual violence will not be published and may result in the writer being banned from submitting and from our socials.
We will remove or reject work by any submitter or contributor we find to have plagiarized
or been racist, misogynistic, homophobic, ableist or hateful in the literary community.
